I thought that our guys did a very good job presenting and I appreciated how open they were with the group. I don’t think that people are ever too young to learn about homosexuality, especially considering that most people develop their morals and character during their developmental years. I feel fine talking about sexual orientation and I hope that all of my queer friends feel safe and comfortable around me and know that I fully support the gay community.
I have always been comfortable talking about sexuality. I think that the presentation was very appropriate for our grade and I came out having learnt something new! I always believe that you should be who you are, and NEVER change for anyone. It’s none of their business who you love. Each part of you is there for a reason! Of course for some people it is uncomfortable which is ok! Not all cultures are comfortable with it. Their loss I guess. Sex is what creates humans after all. Anyways my blog was all over the place. Whoops
I think that they were really inspiring people and that their story was really interesting, and it was probably really hard for them, so its amazing that they were able to be so open about it. I do think that it's a very appropriate topic about it, because everyone needs to know that this is legal, and that everyone should be accepting of everyone. I'm very comfortable with sexual orientation, and if that's you then be you, that doesn't change my views of you at all and I fully support whatever decision you make.
I thought that their presentation was really interesting to know their stories and it was really inspiring that they were really comfortable and not scared to says their stories. I think that it was really appropriate for a grade 9 audience because after their presentation I learned a lot. I’ve always been comfortable with discussing sexuality because I know some people that are gay, and I think that it does not make if you are different that a lot of people like will still like you for how you are.
I loved the presentations. I think it was great that they were willing to share their stories with us. I believe that sexuality is appropriate for a grade 9 class. We are developing into young adults and we need to know that we are accepted, no matter our sexuality. I feel very comfortable discussing this topic because I honestly don't care if someone is homosexual or heterosexual. We are all humans and we all deserve each other's respect.
I never understood how someone’s sexuality results in people judging their worth instead of how they act in real life. I’m shocked that some parents even disowned theiro own children
I believe that the presentations made by the company GRIS were great. It was really smart how they allowed the students to ask questions, rather than them preparing a long presentation which would propbably bore the students. I believe that it was an appropriate subject for a grade 9 audience, since it is good for people of our age to feel comfortable knowing that they are different. It allows them to feel more confident at their age. I feel comfortable addressing sexuality since I want to understand more about the people who are of different sexuality. It allows me to better understand what they go through which is very important.
I liked the presentation that they gave. They were very open about everything they've been through. They were also very nice and liked how they let us ask questions. I think that this presentation is suitable for this grade because its around when people find out how they may be not like others. I think this presentation would really help people who are gay because it shows them they are not the only one.
I'm really comfortable with talking about sexuality. I think the presentation was appropriate for our age group because there are many people our age struggling, stuck in the closet. It must be really hard for them because they're probably scared to be judged. I think that the guests speakers were very honest and helpful
This presentation was very good. I very much enjoyed how open the people were about their social life and what had happened in their past. I believe that this was appropriate for the audience because most people already know their sexuality but for the ones that dont this is probably very helpful. I am pretty comfortable talking about sexuality.
i didnt care that they came. there presentation was okay. it was kinda a boring. yes it was a appropriate for a grade 9 audience. yes i feel confortable talking about sexuality. it was good to have a period with no work and just listening. they were open and seemed friendly. overall B-
I am very neutral on the subject. I don't really mind talking about sexuality or anything like that. Their presentation was pretty good and it was pretty good how open they were to answering questions even about past horrible experiences and personal stuff. Now is when people start realizing their true sexuality so it is good for our age group.
I thought the presentation was fine. I wish instead of only talking about their experiences they talked about factual information. I think it was perfect for a grade nine audience as it seemed to captivate many people in our class. I feel completely comfortable with talking about sexuality. I have grown up all my life with two lesbian aunts who have taught me and discussed with me different sexualities.
I thought that the presentation was very good. I feel like they explained there story very well and answered all of our questions with sincerity. I think that this kind of presentation was appropriate for grade 9, I even feel that it is appropriate for grade 8 because this is a kind of subject that needs to be talked about as early as possible because it is a very major thing. Sexuality is something that I'm ok to talk about with only certain people. I usually dont talk about it with my friends, only with my family of people that are qualified to talk about it like a doctor.
I think that it was a great speech and is appropriate for gr.9 students because we should all be mature enough to discuss topics like this. I think sexuality should be something to be comfortable with because it talks about who you are. I think they were very confident because they were able to express themselves in front of a group of teenagers after what they have been through. I don't think anyone should be judged because of their sexuality.
My opinion of the presentation about sexuality was okay I guess. I mean I already am aware of homosexuality and bisexuality. So the presentation wasn't anything new for me. I think that the presentation was appropriate for a grade nine audience because we should all be aware and be comfortable because they are normal people. I think that that presentation should also be presented in grade seven because having people tell you their side of their coming out story or another thing based on the subject might be beneficial to those who are homosexual or bisexual. I think that as soon as you start high school that you are mature enough for this subject.
I enjoyed the presentation, instead of flooding us with information they took a better approach at informing us by letting us ask the questions and then telling us stories of their experiences which was much more enjoyable. I think that the presentation was very appropriate for our grade, more young people should be taught about sexuality and being open and non judgemental. Although sexuality can be a very personal topic I think that if the people involved in the conversation are mature it's fine to talk about just as we did with GRIS.
I wasn't there on Tuesday so I wasn't able to listen to the presentation given in English class. I'm sure it was a very good presentation. I personally find that this controversial topic is an appropriate topic for students our age to hear about, albeit a bit weird and confusing at times. I don't know much on the subject, which in turn makes me a bit uncomfortable when talking about it to people. Whatever people decide doesn't change what I think of them, though I haven't ever met anybody in the LGBTQ community, or at least haven't noticed.
i enjoyed the presentation alot and it was interesting to hear what they had to say and how their lives were. it was cool the way that they presented the information, rather than giving us all the facts and different "genders", etc they told us story's which I liked. the two speakers seemed to be extremely nice and genuine people. this is a very controversial and opinionated topic and I feel that the majority and if not the whole grade is comfortable talking about this.
I enjoyed their presentation , it brought some insight about sexuality . I believe it’s a good choice for us to learn about it the sooner the better. As for sexuality I’d say I’m comfortable at discussing as for my stance on it , I’d say I don’t care but in a good way. As in I won’t critique people because of their sexuality and won’t really react to it,it just shocks my that some parents straight up disown their children for being attracted to the same gender. That shouldn’t be a factor for determining your child’s worth. I’d say personality wise , and the acts they do should determine their worth, not something as trivial as sexuality as it really doesn’t effect your work or effect someone else
