The Olympic Games in South Korea will draw the attention of many Canadians.

Have you ever dreamed of being an Olympic athlete?

Will you watch some of the events? Which events? Will you be cheering for Canada?

What one WINTER sport do you think you'd compete in?

Explain.

  2. I like watching the Olympics. I usually just turn on my TV and watch whatever sport happens to be on when I'm feeling it. My favourite sport is Women's Hockey though and if I went to the winter olympics t would be for women's hockey because I am ODR trash in the winter and you can catch me being bad at hockey at Valois or Arthur Seguin ODR anytime reach

  3. Last week I wrote about how I don’t really watch the olympics but I completely forgot about slopestyle. I love the slopestyle event and am very excited for the new event that was added this year called big air. I don't dream of going to the olympics as an athlete but one day I would love to go watch an event.

  4. I love the Winter Olympics!! When I was a kid, I always dreamed of becoming some amazing figure skater, but now I’m really into watching snowboarding!! It is like the coolest sport ever and it looks so difficult. I give MAD PROPS to all snowboarders out there. I usually try to watch as much of the olympics as possible because I know that it does not often happen. Winter are my favorite though. Canadians always dominate the Winter Olympics. Team Canada is obviously the team I cheer for!

  5. I never really dreamed of becoming an Olympic athlete, but when I was younger and watched the Olympics, I always imagined myself as being a figure skater. I didn't live up to that "dream" since I was more into soccer. The winter events that enjoy watching are figure skating, snowboarding, ski jumping and hockey. Team Canada has always been the team that I cheered for, since it's my country. We also have some of the best winter athletes in the world, so they have to be my favorite.

  6. I have never dreamed of being in the Olympics. There isn't currently a sport I would like to compete in. Although, I believe ringette should be part of the Olympics. People say it shouldn't because both sexes can't play. But that's just a stereotype. Girls and guys can play ringette. I usually always watch the Olympics with my family. I don't watch all the sports, only some. Like, figure skating, gymnastics and of course hockey. And obviously I will be cheering for Canada!

    1. Yeah! Ringette rules! Also figure skating is always fun to watch, (in my opinion) because of the outfits and the routine. Great Blog!

  7. Never have I thought of competing in the Olympics because I'm not a huge sports fan. I did compete in some sports as a kid but stopped before enrolling in high school.

I have already watched the women's half pipe snow boarding. I watched it for two reasons; 1. My family was already watching it and 2. I am thinking of taking beginner lessons on learning how to snowboard.
The sport that I would compete in is downhill skiing, minus the jumps and flips if there are any. I chose downhill skiing because I have already been taking lessons for 3 yrs now. ( That doesn't mean I'm "Olympic ready" ) And realistically I don't think that I'll ever be because I ski for fun not competitively.

  8. I have wachted the Winter Olympics before and it's really exciting. I've never really dreamed of being an Olympic athlete but if I had to choose an Olympic sport I would choose volleyball. I'm aware that it isn't specifically a winter sport but I love volleyball and it's the sport that I'm the best in. If I had to compete in a winter sport I would probably do figure skating. I think it would be the most fun and the outfits are nice too.

  9. I have never dreamt of becoming an Olympic Athlete since I am not a huge fan of sports. As a kid, I did participate in a few sports but not in an actual team. In science class we watched a few clips of the luge on live but besides that I have not been watching any olympic sports recently. But I would probably be rooting for Portugal since it is my paternal hometown. If I were to ever participate in the winter olympics, the sport that I would choose would be figure skating, since I enjoy it and it is not really considered a "sport".

  10. I have never dreamed of competing in the Olympics because I'm not really good at sports and because i don't practice any sports that are in the Olympics. I never thought of competing in the Olympics because I don't really like competition because i hate i am bad at sports. I only watch the Olympics when their not anything else I like on TV. But some sport that i have watched was the men's luge, the men's speed skating and the woman's. I will be cheering for Canada. If i had to choose a winter sport to compete in i would choose figure skating because i love skating and i love watching these sport.

  11. I never really thought of being in the olympics to be realistic. I tend to watch the summer olympics much more than winter olympics because the events in the summer are much moree appealing to me. I am always cheering for Canada because it's where i'm from. I would choose synchro because that's my sport and im already doing 12 hours of it so i think that would make the most sense for me.

  12. I have personally dreamed of being in the Olympics when I was was 5 or 6. Recently I have not thought of that because I know that I do not have the talent to do what Olympic athletes do. I dont personally think that I will watch any of the events because I am not that bug of a fan of the olympics any more. If I had to compete in a winter Olympic event I would probably participate in hockey because it is the only sport there that interests me.

  13. When I was younger, I wanted to be a ski jumper so badly; I just thought it looked so fun. I knew I never would be in the Olympics, but I knew it would never happen. I do downhill ski sometimes, but I'll never be good enough to actually compete in anything, and I don't like it enough to want to compete anyways. In the past, I’ve watched a lot of events, but so far I’ve only watched a bit of luge and half pipe snowboarding.

  14. I have never really dreamt of being in the olympics like most. I am very European in the sense that I really love soccer so when it comes to big events, I prefer watching the euro cup or world cup rather than the olympics. Although the olympics does have soccer in the summer, it just isn't nearly as good as professional leagues and tournaments. Every year I become less and less into the Olympics anyways.

  15. I always thought it would be awesome to be an olympic athlete. I usually watch the stuff that I find interesting such as snowboarding, skeleton etc. I will usually cheer on Canada unless there is an athlete I like unrelated to countries such as Red Gerard one of my favourite snowboarders who is only 17 and won olympic gold in Slopestyle. I would like to compete in snowboarding but I find skeleton the downhill ice port like an exhilarating sport to try out.

  16. I have always wanted to be an Olympic athlete. The thought of being payed to go play in front of millions people playing the sport that you love is honestly the greatest thing for me. The sport that i will be watching is mens hockey. I watch it every year. If i had to compete in a sport it would most likely be hockey.

  17. Since I was younger I have dreamed of becoming an Olympic athlete. I always watched the olympics as a kid and thought maybe one day I could make it there. This olympics, I will definitely watch the men and women’s hockey, the downhill skiing and the skeleton. I like watching these sports because they are fast and exciting. If I were to compete in the olympics in something it would be hockey or skiing. I’ve played hockey for many years and I actually ski a lot and am very good at it.

  18. i have always dreamed about becoming an Olympic athlete. when I was younger I was going hard to try and become a high level competitive swimmer but due to injuries and lack of motivation i slowly stopped swimming. now if i ever wanted to go to the Olympics it would be for snowboarding. i feel that that is the sport that I have been the best at and that I have so much passion for. at the level that i am progressing I feel that some day I would like to go to the Olympics or at least be a professional snowboarder. this year i am most excited to watch the men's snowboard big air because my favorite rider is competing in the event. his name is Stale Sandbech he is a Norwegian rider and he is a cool guy and his riding is so nice to look at so ya i am really hyped to see how he does.

  19. ive thought about becoming an olympic athlete but i dont i would be cut out to be one. if someone in my house is watching i will watch but most of the time i wont turn it on to watch. when i was younger i would watch them all the time because i thought it was the best thing. now it doesnt bother me if they are on or not. they are interesting but not enough for me to go out of my way to watch them.

  20. The only time that I've ever dreamed of being an Olympian, was when I was little and I thought I could do anything I wanted. I only found out that later I was never really going to be an Olympic athlete. My dreams of becoming a pro athlete were kind of crushed at a young age. The NHL player aren't aloud to play in the Olympics this year, and the only event I really watch is the mens hockey. B they aren't playing this year, so I haven't been following the Olympics at all and I don't plan on it. I'm not really interested by any other sport than hockey because you get to see all the best players in the world compete in one big tournament. I'll only watch team Canada if they make it to the finals. I'll be cheering for team Canada but I'm not going to watch it. If there was one winter sport I could compete in it would be hockey of course. I'm not interested by all the skying and other sports, so this is the one I would play. Plus, I love hockey.

  21. I’ve never thought of ever becoming an athlete. I guess I just never thought I was capable. I don’t know how to skate, and I’ve skied only three times before, and the other sports just seem to complicated and difficult. I’ve always been fascinated by how some of the athletes pull some of the insane tricks they pull, like when the snowboarders do a bunch of flips in mid air or the skaters spin for like ten straight seconds without falling over. I occasionally watch the Olympics. If I’m bored, I can just turn the TV on and that’ll usually be what’s on, and from there I’ll decide whether or not I’d like to change channels. If I did compete in any event it would probably be skiing, since I’ve always wanted to be able to do some of those sick jumps.

  22. second time reposting this since it failed for some reason. I myself am not much of a fan in becoming an athlete. Sure Its cool and all and you get a healthy body however there are repercussions such as concussions. Not just that You'd have trouble making a living unless your in the top 1% for athletes or famous as the more popularity, the more income you get (from doing advertisements and so) and I quite frankly wouldn't enjoy becoming an athlete as I don't like many sports in general. If I were forced to though, I'd become a goalie as thats the position I enjoy the most when playing soccer. I watched the skiing parts since my dad was professional skier but thats all ill be watching. I have trouble deciding on who to cheer to as I like Japan and canada. Japan has wonderful entertainment which I enjoy and I find it to be a unique country however Canada is where I live and also they're one of the best countries to live in. So I guess i'll be cheering both
