  1. I am really looking forward to Pride Week! My favourite day is Pyjama Day because I love being in my pyjamas. I really enjoy Pride Week because it's just so much fun and I love seeing how people dress up for some of the days. School spirit has honestly played a very important role in my high school experience. If we didn't do Pride Week, I probably wouldn't appreciate St Thomas as much and I wouldn't have wanted to get involved.

  2. The event i'm most looking forward to this week is the pajama day. There’s no form of clothing that are as comfy as pajamas. I believe one of the things that drives our school to have things like pride week or winter carnival is our school spirit there also there to keep our spirit up. These weeks are one of my favorite parts of school because they let you participate in things like pajama day which would be unacceptable otherwise.

    1. I love how comfy pajamas are, and our school does have spirit! Some schools dont even have pride weeks or pep rallies unfortunately.

  3. I am personally looking forward to pajama day and band day. Pajamas are so comfy and I honestly put mine on the moment I get home. I’m excited for band day because people will get to wear clothes with their favorite bands on them and I think that’s amazing. I love listening to music and I’m sure all if not most of you do too which makes seeing people show their appreciation for their favorite bands so much better.

    1. I agree , this year has been more memorable than most because I am more involved with the school. Extracurricular activities have made this school more memorable for it's students and they are also another way to express the student's school spirit.

  5. Pride week is one of my favourite moments of the year! It is always exciting to participate in any of the activities whether it's dressing up for pajama day or playing dodgeball at lunch or WEARING your favourite BAND T-SHIRT! I am really excited for Thursday.
Each year student counsel comes up with new ideas to better improve pride week from the former year. They work really hard and it shows with how much school spirit everyone is giving to help and volunteer for different tasks or participating in any way like signing up for extracurricular activities related to the school.
I love St.Thomas and I also have lots of school spirit. I channel that spirit by using my free time to participate in an extracurricular activity that is organized by one of the teachers here at St.T. I show my St.Thomas pride by wearing the uniform that I was given at tournaments. On that uniform is the St.Thomas "knight", so everyone knows at the tournaments that I am from St.Thomas.

  6. I like pride week, not all that much though. Some things I don't really care for but most things are really cool. I look forward to pride week, even though I don't really dress up or do the activites. One day that I am really exited for is meme day. I like memes a lot, I find them so funny and a good source of happiness for me. At St-Thomas, there is a lot of school spirit. It makes school so much better and more fun. School spirit is a massive part of keeping St-Thomas alive and happy. Without any school spirit there would be no sport teams, no after school and in school tournaments and activites, it would be boring without it. Each year I have more and more pride and school spirit to show. In the past years I maybe would dress up only for one day that interestes me. This year it might be the same just because I have school sports games this week and I have to dress up nicely for it. School spirit has given a fun meaning for me, it has chapped me in a way that my old schools haven't. It's given me a fun and supper time here at St-Thomas.

  7. I like pride week because the fun activities seem to make the week pass by really fast, and so close to the holidays, that's just what I need! I love pyjama day because you get to be comfy all day and the pep rallies are really cool with all of the videos and the fact that we miss a period. The school spirit has shaped me high school experience because all of the kids here seem to be proud of their school, and have fun, and take initiative to make their school fun. It's a really big part of st
    Thomas.

  9. School spirit is a huge part of what makes our school so different from other schools. Without all the school spirit we have, we'd be just as boring as all the other schools. This is why I like pride week. It gives us a week to really show our spirit towards the school. And although a lot of people don't bother dressing up or participating in the daily activities, but those who actually do end up going all out.

    2. it adds a little spice to the school day which I really appreciate, but I don't think that they don't bother to dress up, its more of how they're getting a lot of work now as we're getting closer to the mid terms

  10. I think that St-Thomas has great school spirit. I really appreciate this aspect of the school because I’ve always been an advocate for not taking yourself too seriously. I like that activities and events at our school, like Pride Week allow for students to just be silly and have fun with one another. I’m particularly looking forward to pyjama day, meme day and band shirt day because these are the most original theme days in my opinion and I will be able to participate in them.

  11. Pride week is definitely one of the more fun weeks, other than the really short ones and the ones we get totally off. It really shows off how much people love our school and how much they want to be there. Pride week is something that I generally look forward to, then forget about over the weekend and come back on Monday and realize that it’s pride week. I enjoy the pep rallies, especially the student-made videos that joke about teachers or some relatable situations. I’m not sure what many of the events are going to be this week, I keep forgetting, but I’m sure they’ll help me get through this long week easily and happily.

  12. School spirit in this school has a huge affect on how our school is portrayed and makes it so much more fun for everyone. Without school spirit, our school would be so much more boring. During pride week I look forward to the little activites most, like the ones at lunch and the dodgeball tournament. I also find it fun to see what people wear on meme day and ugly christmas sweater day. Overall school pride definitely has a huge impact on our school and the enjoyment of school.

  13. School spirit is very important to have a welcoming and fun environment which helps to reduce stress. I find St-Thomas does a really good job at being prideful and having lots of school spirit because the students that attend really enjoy the school pride. Pride week is one of the most fun weeks of school because there is a nice atmosphere about and the activities make school more fun and exciting compared to a normal day. If I went to a school with no pride I wouldn't be as excited and things would get boring for sure, thats why I love St-Thomas.

  14. I am looking very forward for this weeks pride week events since pride week is fun and allows you to unleash your silly side. My personal favourite would have to be pyjama day, since I am able to feel super comfortable for the whole day(especially in a onesie). What I am really looking forward to is band t-shirt day, since you get to showcase artists who inspire you, which is important to most of us. School spirit has greatly shaped my high school experience, since I knew that not a lot of schools had done this type of activity. It gave me a sense of comfort and happiness knowing that our school would do whatever it takes to have fun, and celebrate as a school. In my opinion, I think that every school should have pride week, since it is an awesome event that any student can relate to.

  15. St. Thomas is known for its awesome dances and fun activities, and during pride week is when these things happen. Usually, though, every pride week is the same, so this year I think it's cool that there are new themes for certain days, such as meme day. School spirit has definitely played a part so far in my high school experience, because surrounding yourself with positive people is one of the best ways to become more positive. St. Thomas is full of students who love their school and want to show that positivity.

  16. I love pride week mostly because of how it reduces my stress and gives everyone activities that we can do . They execute it perfectly and make school life more exciting. I'm just a little sad that because of the timing of test, it made it so that I missed some of the activities that I could have gone to. By far I've enjoyed meme day the most as I had a lot of giggles and laughs when I saw some of the clever memes they had( some dressed up as well). It was also one of the days where the school day goes on faster than usual as you tend to enjoy it more compared to the other days where its just eat, study, work, memorize as it adds a little spice to everything

  18. Every year I enjoy pride week. I love our school and all the fun activities and dances that happen! Pyjama day is and always will be my favorite though. Meme day was a really great addition. So far this year I have joined the Debate Team and the Yearbook Commite. These are the first after school activities that I have ever done, and so far I am really enjoying them. Our school has a lot to offer, and I have never heard of other schools doing pep rallies such as ours.

  19. our school has the most school spirit and I admire it even though its a bit bit to much some times. I feel that school spirit is very important because it make school more fun and a more loving and welcoming place to be. I like all the events that are planed for this week and I am looking forward for them but so far I am a bit sad because on pajama day I had no pajama pants that fit so I had nothing to wear. our school has the best pep rallies and all the other schools should watch and learn how we host the best events and have the most school spirit.

  20. I think that pride week is fun because students can express themselves in silly and fun ways. Even if I don't do all the pride week events I think it's pretty fun to go to school and see what others are wearing for example. I think that school spirit has made high school a lot more entertaining especially since it's close to Christmas. Personally I think since it's also close to mid term exams, it makes people less stressed.
