Music plays an important role in our lives!

Tell me what genre(s) you listen to, why you like certain artists, which concerts you've been to.  I want you to help me understand your musical preference.

Can you include a playlist? What are seven (7) songs you are currently listening to?

  1. I really enjoy listening to music. Some genres that I like are hip-hop, pop, dance, some country, rap and rock. A few of my favourite artists are Taylor Swift, Clean Bandit, Chainsmokers, Hailee Steinfeld, Ed Sheeran, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Macklemore, etc. I love Clean Bandit and Chainsmokers the most. To me, their music is amazing and I never get tired of it. I've been to 2 concerts: Katy Perry and 1D. Seven songs that I am currently listening to are Paris by the Chainsmokers, Big Yellow Taxi by the Counting Crows, Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran, Symphony by Clean Bandit, Glorious by Macklemore, There For You by Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan, Most Girls by Hailee Steinfeld. These are some of my favorites and I think you should listen to a few.

  2. I don’t like any specific genres. I listen to music that reminds me of amazing memories. For example I listen to the beach boys because it reminds me of our trip to california where we saw surfers and hung out on the beach a lot of the time. Or a song called don't go that my family and I fell in love with in Ireland. I will also listen to songs from TV shows because I like the scene it plays in. I also love John Denver , Clean bandit, Jimmy Buffett, Selena Gomez,Cambridge symphony orchestra, I will listen to anything from the 80’s and of course Disney Music. I have been to a Clean Bandit consert, Selena Gomez, a symphony concert based on Pixar films and an assortment of other artist. My playlist would have to consist of You’re so good to me (The beach boys), Fly away (John Denver), Preparation (cambridge symphony orchestra), Word Up (cameo), Married Life (Michael Giacchino), The Woods (Hollow Coves) and Savoy Special (Glenn Crytzer savoy seven).

  3. My music taste in music is absolutely everywhere, and I absolutely adore playing and listening to music. I like rap, but also R&B, but also punk rock, but also folk, but also world hip hop to name a few genres I listen to. I’m into complex and creative sounds, but sometimes I’ll also be feeling a mindless, high-energy beat to hype me up or whatever. I’ve seen 5 Seconds of Summer, Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir in concert.

    Gorgeous-Kanye West
Like a Record- Dead or Alive
    Danger-Erykah Badu
What I Like About You-The Romantics
    Conscious-Kodak Black
    In Between Days-The Cure
    Workin’ Woman Blues- Valerie June

  4. I LOVE music, maybe it's because I 'm a teenager right now that I am going through a phase but through music I can really connect and explore through my imagination. I love instrumental music as well as music with lyrics. What I mean by instrumentals is that I found this artist online who created these beautiful albums that only use instruments and no singing. My favorite of these songs are Assasin's(it is not violent just exciting) and Intro to Florian Bur. Both of these songs were created by Florian Bur. I also love soundtracks from movies, a.k.a: Pirates of the Carribean or Star Wars. Now instrumentals are great but like I said before I also like music with actual singing. Ex. Feel It Still by, Portugal or Who do you love, by Marianas Trench.

I have only been to one concert so far where as my sister has been to several (it does help that she is 5 years older than me, but that is not the point.) My first ad only concert was to go see Justin Bieber. I went with my best friend at the time who is now moved to Toronto. It was awesome, loud, totally mesmerizing and an unforgetful evening.

This is the link to his website:
    https://www.florianbur.co/music

Another song that I love listening to is from this album that I originally found on YouTube then bought on iTunes store. It is called Binary by Mark Petrie and the song that is my favorite in this album is called Makalu. (Kind of sounds like "Mack" right?!)

  6. I love listening to music. I come from a family who are extremely passionate about music, so I am as well. I love 90’s music from all genres. Like Bel Biv de Voe, Will Smith etc. But I also love some of today’s music. I really enjoy Tyler the Creator. He is so inspiring and different compared to other artists. As a kid, in my parents would always put 99.9 The Buzz on the car radio. So, I can sing along to any 90’s Lithium songs that you can name. Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters etc. All in all, I love music, and i’m so glad it exists.
My recent seven songs: ( Bare with me, i’m going through a Tyler the Creator phase )
    Foreword : Tyler the Creator
See you Again : Tyler the Creator
Where This Flower Blooms : Tyler the Creator
    Little One : Highly Suspect
I Ain’t got Time : Tyler the Creator
    Boredom: Tyler ( again )
    WOLF : Tyler the Creator

  7. I really like music, but I can never find the time to listen to it, I usually only really listen to music in the car. With school, homework and sports i can never fin the time. Anyways, my favourite bands and artists are here: ed sheeran, halsey, maroon 5, imagine dragons, and there’s probably more that i’m forgetting. Ive been to a maroon 5 concert, and thats about it. Right now my favourite six songs are: bad at love (Halsey), believer (imagine dragons), cold (maroon 5), reminding me (shawn hook ft. vanessa hudgens), castle on the hill (ed sheeran), and back to you (louis thomlinson).

  8. I really love listening to music, it's kind of like the beat to my life. My favourite genres of music are pop and rock, but I listen to a lot of other genres too like country, rap, and hip hop. I know all the new hot songs these days are almost all rap, but the thing is I don't really like rap all that much, so I listen to rock a lot. Some of my favourite songs are "Feels" by Calvin Harris, "Hells Bells" by AC/DC, and "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. I've never been to any concert at all, but I'd really like to go to some soon. I want to see a good rock group or a good pop singer next summer, but I'm not really sure who's coming to Montreal. Even though I don't like rap that much there are some rap songs that I like and that have a good beat. Some other songs that I also are on my playlist and that I really enjoy are "T.N.T" by AC/DC, "Rock and Roll all night" by Kiss, "24k Magic" by Bruno Mars, and "Cederwood Road" by U2.

  9. I love music. Music is my go to. You will always see me in the halls with one earbud in having a conversation with a friend. I find music helps me study and concentrate. I generally listen to hip hop or rap. Some of my favourite songs are “Numb” by 21 Savage, “Rockstar” by Post Malone, “Elementary” by Lil Pump “The Race” by Tay-K “Relationship” by Young Thug “I just wanna” by Lucas Coly and “Dojo” by Yung Tory.

  10. I don't want this to sound like an exaggeration but music is one of my favourite things in the world. I can't explain it but it just is. Most of the time I listen to pop or rap. Seven songs that I find are good are: If I ain't got you by Alicia keys, meant to be by Bebe Rexha, rake it up by yo gotti, praying by Kesha, Hopsin by the purge, uh huh by Julia Micheals and the way I are by Bebe Rexha and lil Wayne. There are obviously way more that are equally as good.

  11. I really love music. At least 5 hours of my day I'm listening to music whether it be while walking my dog, doing homework or even just walking in the halls listening to music is my go to. Rap music is my favourite genre of music. I really love Montana of 300's music because he is a very good lyricist. I also love Maxo Kream because although he is more unknown he still makes great music. Some of my favourite songs right now are Busta Rhymes by Montana of 300, Molly by Lil Pump, Murder by Maxo Kream and Montana of 300's remix of Mask Off. These are only some of the hundreds of songs found on my playlist but right now are upon some of my favourites.

  12. Listening to music is probably the thing I do most often, besides breathing and other stuff like that. If I'm at home, I'm probably listening to music. My favourite artists include Halsey, Panic! at the Disco, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, and, last but not least, My Chemical Romance. My taste in music would probably be called pop-punk, pop rock, or even punk rock, apparently. I find loud, intense music very calming and therapeutic, since generally I’m a very annoyed/negative person, but I'm also very quiet and find it uncomfortable to tell people how I'm feeling. I've been to one concert in my lifetime: Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour in grade 6.
Since I'm actually listening to music while writing this, I'll write down the past few songs that played: - My Chemical Romance / This Is How I Disappear - Twenty One Pilots / Ode to Sleep - My Chemical Romance / Hang ‘em High - The 1975 / Somebody Else - Paramore / Idle Worship - Halsey / Drive - Panic! at the Disco / Emperor's New Clothes - Halsey / Gasoline -

  13. I really love listening to music because it is one of my favorite thing to do in life. I listen to music all the time especially when I am do my homework or I am studying because I find that it helps me concentrate. I love listening to Bruno Mars and Shawn Mendes, etc. I love this artist because I can sometimes relate to a certain song and because I love their voice. In my life I’ve only been to one concert and it was this summer I went to the Bruno Mars concert. The songs that I listen to are the whole album of Bruno Mars (2017), and I also love listening to to album Illuminate by Shawn Mendes. But I also love listening to the music on the radio.

  14. I like to listen to rap and hip hop music. I haven’t been to any concerts or met any rappers but I probably will in the future. Some rappers I listen to are Lil Pump, Kodak Black and Montana of 300. I like hip hop because I hate slow and relaxing music and I don’t really like singing like pop. I like the speed and beat in hip hop music the most. listening to this style of music just puts makes me feel so much better and that is why I like it so much. Some songs I like are “The Race” by Tay-K, “Rockstar” by Post Malone, “Molly”, “Boss”, “Gucci gang” by Lil Pump, “God Strong” by Montana of 300 and “Transporting” by Kodak Black.

  15. I enjoy listening to music very much but I am very particular with the songs I listen to. some people say that the music I listen to is weird but I don't care because I enjoy listening to it. the genre I listen to is like different types of rock. these days everybody is obsessed with rap and i find that more recent rap is garbage its just so annoying to listen to someone slur their word and say stuff you don't even understand but once again this is my personal opinion but whatever. I have never been to a concert and I don't plan on going to one any time soon I just don't like being surrounded by people that are screaming and singing. my favorite artist is cage the elephant. I really like his music because it really pleasant to listen to. songs = Portugal the man/ feel it still- childish gambino/ redbone- cage the elephant/ cigarette daydreams- cage the elephant/ cry baby- cage the elephant/ mess around- cage the elephant sweatie little jean- cage the elephant/ punchin' bag.

  17. I personally do not listen to very much music. It really isn’t a very big part of my life, at least compared to other people. The only times I listen to music are when I am being driven somewhere or am sitting alone in a voice call with a bot that plays music. Generally when I hear music it’s either a rock song, a church song, or a song that may have been popular five or so years ago. I don’t generally choose to listen to music, it just gets played around me and I hear it. I don’t pay much attention to the title, and sometimes not even the lyrics. I like songs for the music, not for the words, mostly. I haven’t really gotten into much music, I’ve only looked up lyrics to two or three songs that I can remember, but I did spend three hours in the past two days writing the music for a song I wanted to play. Unfortunately for the rest of you, I don’t even know enough songs to give you a playlist, all I can say is that I like to listen to a bit of Fall Out Boy or Coldplay every now and then. I did go to a very small concert with some christian singer I hadn’t really heard of this weekend at an event at my summer camp. That weekend was 11/10 would go again :P.

  18. I love listening to music, I don't always listen to music as soon as its released and sometimes I only catch on to a popular song 2 weeks later when everyone has gotten over it. My favourite artist is Tyler The Creator, I have been listening to him for 1 or 2 years and I love his newest album flower boy. In recent years Tyler The Creators style has evolved and matured, and I prefer his new music compared to his old music, it is more relaxed and has deeper meanings. My current favourite songs are: 1, Boredom-TylerTheCreator 2, See You Again-TylerTheCreator 3,November-TylerTheCreator 4-Fly Like An Eagle-Steve Miller 5, F****ing Young/Perfect-Tyler the creator 6, Redbone-Childish Gambino 7, 911/Mr.Lonely-TylerTheCreator. Those are my favourite songs (not necessarily in order)

  19. I love listening to music. I do it a lot when I am home and I love doing it and probably not stop doing it because I love it so much. I am really into POP songs, and I've always liked POP songs. I’ve never liked other types of music, for example country. It just never appealed to me. My favorite band is Imagine Dragons and my favorite song is Believer by Imagine Dragons. My playlist is: Believer by Imagine Dragons, Thunder by Imagine Dragons, Cheerleader by Omi, Despacito by Justin Bieber, Symphony by Clean Bandit, Chained to the rhythm by Katy Perry and finally Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots.

  20. I listen to music everyday i don't think there is a day that goes by that i don't listen to at least one song.I love all types of music expect for country, country music could disappear and no one would bat an eye. I love the rap music the most. My favorite artists right now would have to be
Tyler the creator and Lana Del Rey. I haven't been listening to tyler recently though.
    1. 745-vince staples
    2. high by the beach- lana del rey
    3. good morning- kanye west
    4. rubberband man- asap ferg
    5.temptation- joey bada$$

  21. I love music. I listen to almost every genre of music you could think of. I literally listen to it everyday everywhere. I cannot spend a whole day without listening to at least one song on my playlist. Some of my favourite songs to listen to are silence by Khalid, lone n hennessy by A.CHAL, and many more by artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake and Ariana Grande. I have only been to one concert and that was around 4 years ago to go see Selena Gomez.

  22. I love listening, playing and composing music. It has always been a huge part of me. I listen to a variety of music, including rap, R&B, indie pop, jazz, alternative, rock, reggae and many more. I am also able to listen to music in any language, since music is a universal language that binds us together. I don't really have favorite artists(I love most of them equally), but I love artists that put meaning into their songs, that have personal value. Not songs where people just say random garbage that makes no sense and has no meaning whatsoever. I have been to a musical concert before. I went to see Bryan Adams since I love how soothing most of his songs are. But, besides that concert, I'm not really a concert fan. I'm not the type of person that listens to the same songs over and over again, so I never have a song that I "currently listen to". A playlist(I have many) that I would have to offer would be a variety of different songs. For example(not in a specific order) 1. Song for someone-U2 2.3005-Childish Gambino 3.Colors-Halsey 4.Come a little closer-Cage The Elephant 5.Latch-Disclosure 6.All blues-Miles Davis 7.twentythousand-exes

  23. I haven't been to any concerts. My favorite type of genre is electronic. I dont really have any favorite artists as I like some of the musics they make. Faded from alan walker is a good one and one of my favorites, party rock is for when you want to have the urge to dance. David hasslehoff true survivor is a song that I checked out because of a game referencing it(its a 1980s song). NOMA brainpower is.....well I cant really describe that one but it makes you feel pumped and excited after. tristam and break frame of mind seems to make me calm and relaxed. i've started listening to echo linkin park and its a song that seems to have deep meaning behind it. and last but not least renegades. Renegades isn't electronic but its extremely catchy and makes you want to sing along to the lyrics.

  24. I adore a ton of bands and enjoy listening to all sorts of music. I honestly can not choose a favorite genre. I listen to quite a few different genres, like alternative, indie rock, a bit of metal, instrumental, folk song and more. My favorite song is definitely Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons, which is also my favorite band. I don’t really have an order but some of my favorites by other artists include Monster by Starset, Murdoch by Trees, The Haunting by Halsey, Explode by Witten by Wolves, Zombie by The Cranberries, Roundtable Rival and Shadows by Lindsey Stirling, No Apologies by Bon Jovi, My Medicine by The Pretty Reckless and many, many more. I don’t really look for certain genres but just songs and artists I like in general. Sometimes I only like one song by an artist and that’s fine because I think music is wonderful and everyone should just listen to what they enjoy.

    1. I also think that everyone should just listen to the type of music that they like, and oh my god I know that song Zombie by the Cranberries, I used to listen to it with my dad actually !

  25. I think my favourite types of music are R&B, rap and hip-hop. I listen to basically any kind of music except for country and I only make exceptions for rock when my dad blasts songs that I know in his truck while driving. I don't really listen to many bands.. I usually listen to solo artists like J. Cole, Bryson Tiller, Jeremih, etc. My favourite artists are J. Cole, Bryson Tiller, Lucas Coly, Jacquees and Russ. I really like them because the all have the same type of vibe that comes off of their music. Their music usually calms me down and helps me focus on certain things. Some of their lyrics also have strong meaning which I like because for a song to be good, there should be emotion and it should make you feel a type pf way. I listen to a bunch of stuff whether it's old or new but right now I'm currently listening to:
    1-Wet dreamz by J. Cole
    2-Don't by Bryson Tiller
    3-Exchange by bryson Tiller
    4-Goodbye by Russ
    5-What they want by Russ
    6-Sprung by Lucas Coly
    7Peace of mind by PARTYNEXTDOOR
